In order to meet the requirements of flexible movements, the body of spot welding robots usually use joint-type working robots, which generally have 6 degrees of freedom. There are two main driving methods: hydraulic drive and electric drive. Electrical drive has the advantages of simple maintenance, low energy consumption, high speed, high precision, and good safety, so it is widely used. The spot welding robot is mainly composed of three parts: manipulator, control system and spot welding system, as shown in Figure 6-8. The operator can teach the motion position and motion program of the spot welding robot through the teach pendant and operation panel, and set the motion speed and spot welding parameters. The spot welding robot performs spot welding operations in accordance with the actions, sequences and parameters specified by the teaching program, and the process is completely automated.
